Meat & Potatoes

Ingredient: 4 servings
  • 1lb Potato (4 medium potatoes)
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 Onion
  • 7oz Thinly-Sliced Beef
  • 1.8oz Green Beans
  • 3.5oz Konyaku
  • 3Tbsp Dashi Soy
  • 3 Cups Water
  • 2 Tbsp Sake, or Cooking wine
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Mirin

Preparation
  1. Peel and quarter potatoes and soak in water.
  2. Chop onion in half, and slice into 1cm pieces.
  3. Chop carrots into pieces smaller than potato.
  4. Cut green beans in half.
  5. Divide Konyaku into 3 pieces.
  6. Cut Beef into 3cm pieces.
  7. Put water in pot and carrots then bring to a boil. Add beef and 1 Tbsp Dashi Soy.
  8. When the carrots start to soften, add potatoes and continue to boil 1 to 2 minutes.
  9. Turn heat down , add sugar, mirin, and sake, and simmer for 5 minutes.
  10. Last add Dashi Soy to flavor and the green beens, and use a drop lid. Cook slowly until done.

Ingredient: 4 servings
  • 4 Beaten Eggs
  • 1 Sliced Onion
  • 3.5oz Ground Chicken
  • 3 Sliced Shiitake Mushrooms
  • Dashi Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Salad Oil
  • A Seasoning:
  • 2/3 cup choped Green Onion
  • Salt, Pepper to taste
  • 1 2/3 cup Water

Preparation
  1. Season egg with A Seasoning
  2. Heat a frypan, add oil, Ground chicken, shiitake, and onion lightly.
  3. Place 2 into two heat-resistant bowls, and pour 1 over top.
  4. Wrap bowls in plastic wrap, and microwave 1 dish for 3 to 4 minutes.
  5. Remove plastic wrapping carefully, and add Dashi Soy.
