Browned Rice Balls with Green Laver

Ingredient: 2 servings
  • 2~3 rice bowls full Rice
  • 1tb Green Laver
  • 3~4tb Sesame Seeds
  • <Sauce>
  • 3tb Dashi Soy
  • 1tb Mirin
  • 1tsp Sesame Oil

Preparation
  1. Mix the green laver with rice and make 4~6 rice balls.
  2. Roll the rice balls in sesame seeds, and put in a pan on low heat.
  3. When the sesame seeds are slightly browned, add the sauce and roll the rice balls in it. When the rice balls are completely covered and cooked on the outside, take them out and serve on a plate.

Skewered Miso Pork

Skewered Miso Pork

Ingredient: 2 servings
  • 7oz Pork Tenderloin
  • ¼ Onion
  • 2 Asparagus
  • 3tb Chopped Green Onion
  • Sparingly Vegetable Oil
  • <Marinade for Pork>
  • 2tb Dashi Soy
  • 1 Cooking Sake
  • <Miso Paste>
  • 2tb Miso
  • 1tb Cooking Sake
  • 1tsp Mirin
  • 1tb Sugar
  • 6 Skewers

Preparation
  1. Cut the pork into bite sized pieces and mix with the marinade. Cut the onions into bite sized chunks. Cut the asparagus into 1 inch pieces.
  2. Squeeze the liquid out of the pork. Arrange the onions and asparagus with the pork in an alternating fashion on the 6 skewers just like a kabob.
  3. Put a thin layer of vegetable oil in a pan and cook skewers on both sides with medium heat. When the meat is browned, turn the heat to low, put the lid on and cook the pork through.
  4. Spread the miso paste on both sides of the skewers, put on a plate and sprinkle the green onions on top.
