Welcome

In delicious Sanuki, for over 200 years...

Since 1789, the same year as the French Revolution, we have been producing soy sauce in this area which was reknowned for its expansive salt farms. At that time the Kagawa region was called Sanuki. From the middle of the Edo Period, Sanuki was famous for producing three white commodities: Salt, Sugar, and Cotton. With its relatively low annual rainfall, ample sunshine, and abundance of shoal beaches along the Seto Inland Sea, Sanuki accounted for 80 percent of Japan's salt production. Sanuki also became one of Japan's famous soy sauce producing regions. Its open fields were suitable for growing soy beans and wheat, and the mild climate was favorable for cultivating Koji rice, all of which are necessary for making soy sauce. Throughout our history we have followed the sincere Kamada family motto, “producing the best quality of soy, helping in the community, and gaining public confidence.” Our continuing commitment to quality and service has resulted in the development of several new and innovative products.
